Located on the iconic Rua da Boavista, the apartments restructure the interior space of a historic building, situated near the medieval church of Cedofeita. The intervention includes the enhancement of the facades and the roof, with the introduction of "period" tiles that enrich the urban image of the building. These tiles are applied after careful repairs to the plasters and the installation of efficient window frames, both thermally and acoustically.
Replacement of the weakened structure with a new one, maintaining the original shape and optimizing the quality of the space in the rooms under the roof.
The project highlights the beautiful interior brightness, the favorable solar orientation, and the wide views from the windows and balconies.
In dialogue with modern comfort standards, details and decorations characteristic of the late 19th century are preserved.
The stairs providing access to the different floors are a visual highlight, topped by a large skylight with original decorative stuccos, which provides effective lighting to the common areas.
The communal courtyard, facing south, offers a tranquil refuge, protected from urban noise, enhancing the comfort and quality of life of the residents.
The introduction of an elevator and adjustments to the floors make the building accessible, without compromising the perception of the classic environment.
The privileged location on Rua da Boavista ensures proximity to the central areas of the city of Porto, such as the Baixa and the Boavista Roundabout, facilitating access to a wide range of services and amenities.
